Centre of rotation
Also known as center of rotation, rotation axis. Category: Photography techniques
The centre of rotation is the axis around which a turntable or rotating platform turns. A product placed exactly on it stays in the same position in every frame of a spin; an off-centre product appears to wobble or drift.
How PhotoRobot uses it
PhotoRobot turntables mark the centre of rotation with positioning lasers, and software auto-centering corrects misplaced products afterwards. With CubiScan measurements, the robotic arm can raise the camera to the vertical centre of the object automatically.

- Auto-centering: Software correction that aligns a product to the centre of rotation in every frame so a spin does not wobble.
- Photography turntable: A rotating platform that turns a product in front of a fixed camera so it can be photographed from every side.
